Are We Nuts?

Maybe a little. I mean I am trying to start a homestead blog with a toddler and a full-time job with a two-hour commute.

We had only two dogs, two great labradors (well, ones a mix, but mostly lab). Now we have three. THREE. All under 5. Jake and I decided that we did not have enough going on, so we needed to add a 3rd, and a puppy at that, well a 6-month-old puppy.

I always browse the free section on Craigslist. There is always the occasional dog on there, I get sad and scroll by, sometimes sending it to Jake to get a solid "No.".

This cute chocolate lab popped up on there and he tugged at my heartstrings. But assuming it would be a "no" again, I scrolled on by. About an hour later I see a text from Jake, with a screen shot of the same dog. I told him "Yeah I saw him and almost sent him to you", Jake responded with a "I may have already messaged the poster".

We were supposed to pick him up that day, but the poster let us know he would be going to a family member, which would be great for him. We told her to let us know if that fell through.

Fast forward a week, and Jake gets a text message saying that the family member was not going to work out and if we were still interested in him.

The rest was history.

Everyone met Gus.
